Kiwi Stone sphere

Kiwi Stone, often sold under the misleading name “Kiwi Jasper”, is not a true Jasper but a fine-grained igneous rock composed mainly of Feldspar and Quartz, with traces of clay minerals and Muscovite, a type of Mica. The term “Jasper” became popular through trade, but geologically it doesn’t belong in that category.

Visually, Kiwi Stone is refreshing and full of contrast. Its soft green base is speckled with white, grey, and black spots, creating a natural pattern that feels calm and balanced. Some pieces show subtle shimmer from the Feldspar and Muscovite, adding quiet depth without overpowering the stone’s gentle tones.

This material comes from New Zealand and gained popularity in Europe around 2015. Formed through slow cooling of mineral-rich magma, it shows how even simple elements like Feldspar, Quartz, and time can come together to create something visually striking.
