Turritella Agate is one of the most fascinating agates out there—not just for its patterns, but for what those patterns actually are. It’s a fossil-rich variety of Chalcedony, packed with the spiral-shaped shells of ancient snails called Turritella, preserved in stunning detail.
Formed millions of years ago, this Agate developed as silica-rich groundwater slowly replaced the organic material in a bed of fossil shells, turning it into stone. The result is a dark, often brown to black Agate filled with white or tan shell fossils, each one a tiny snapshot of prehistoric life.
Turritella Agate is perfect if you're drawn to minerals that connect geology and paleontology. It’s not just beautiful—it’s a piece of ancient life, preserved forever in stone.
